1.9 Setting the footer

To add content to Smartbox’s footer follow these steps

  1. Go to Appearance > Widgets
  2. Open up the Footer left and Footer right widget positions
  3. Drag widgets in the appropriate position

1.8 Setting the menu

Smartbox uses WordPress 3.0 Custom Menus.

  1. Go to Appearance > Menus
  2. Create a new menu.
  3. Add your created pages to it and save it.
  4. Use the drop down box to select the Menu.
  5. Save and your menu is ready.

1.7 Upload a Retina Logo

Navigate to Smartbox > General in your admin panel and use the following options to customize your logo

  1. Click Set image to upload your logo ( make sure the dimensions are twice the size they should be)
  2. Select Retina Logo from the Retina Logo Option
  3. Adjust the header height so that it fits your logo (in case of an image logo that should be larger than the logos height)
  4. Save the changes

1.6 Changing the logo

Navigate to Smartbox > General in your admin panel and use the following options to customize your logo

  1. Select either a text logo or an image logo
  2. In case of a text logo type your text here
  3. In case of an image logo click Set image to upload your logo
  4. Adjust the header height so that it fits your logo (in case of an image logo that should be larger than the logos height)
  5. Save the changes

Tip!

In case of a text logo you can use light fonts by wrapping the letters in an underscore, ie _TEXT_

1.5 Changing the background

To customise your background Login to wordpress administration panel and navigate to Appearance > Background

  1. Use the preview pane to see how your background is going to look
  2. Upload your image to be used as a background
  3. Choose an image from the Media Library
  4. Use a color instead of an image

Tip!

All the background images used in the demo site are included in the zip folder

1.3 Import demo content

To get started quickly once you have installed the theme. You can install our demo content. This will make your site look exactly the same as the SmartBox demo site

1.2 Installing the theme

Before you install theme, make sure your installed wordpress version is 3.4 or higher.
You also need to have PHP 5.2.4 or higher and MySQL 5.0 in order for the theme to function correctly.

There are two ways to install, select a method from the accordion on the right

  1. Login to the wordpress administration panel
  2. Go to Appearance > Themes
  3. Click the Install Themes tab
  4. Click the Upload link at the top of the page
  5. Click the choose file button in the Install a theme in .zip format box
  6. Browse for the theme zip inside the theme folder and click Install Now.
  7. The Install Theme from uploaded file will display the results of the installation.
  8. Click the Activate link to make that the Current Theme.
  1. Extract the theme zip file contents to a folder on your local computer.
  2. Using an FTP client to access your host web server. Upload the caelus theme folder into the wp-content/themes directory provided by WordPress.
  3. Click Appearance > Themes
    and click the Manage Themes tab
  4. Under the Available Themes, if necessary navigate to the page displaying that Theme, then click the Activate link to make the Theme, the Current Theme.

1.1 Download From Theme Forest

Once you have downloaded the zip file from Themeforest, unzip it using your standard zip software.

When it has finished you should have a folder with the following files & directories inside.
